Office of the University Registrar
The Office of the University Registrar has University-wide
responsibility for student academic records and related
processes, including: registration, academic transcripts,
confidentiality of student records, grade reporting, graduation
and diplomas, enrollment verification, scheduling of
classrooms and final exams, and degree audits.
Penn State takes student privacy very seriously. The Federal
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) is
the federal law that protects the privacy of student education
records and identifies the rights of students and their families
with respect to student education records kept by institutions.
Under FERPA, you have the right to:
•;Have some control over the disclosure of
information from your education records
•;Inspect and review your education records
•;Request the amendment of inaccurate or
otherwise inappropriate education records
LionPATH is Penn State’s student information system. You
will use LionPATH to enroll in classes, view financial aid, pay
tuition, check grades, and more.
With the delegated access function in LionPATH, you grant
your parent/guardian the ability to view a selection of your
In order to grant your parent/guardian the ability to view
your LionPATH student information, you will need to log-in to
LionPATH to initiate the delegated access process. Delegation
is available through the following navigation: Self Service
>Student Delegation>Guardian Options.
You may provide delegated access in LionPATH for
the following areas:
To set up delegated access, you will need to have your parent/
guardian’s personal email address. Once you grant access,
your parent/guardian will receive an email with further
instructions on how to view your student data with LionPATH.
PLEASE NOTE: Access for parents/guardians to view and pay
tuition is provided through the Authorized Payer Access in
LionPATH, which is a separate process from Delegated Access.
